Albany Kayakers 060115

ALBANY — Two kayaks with young females on board were pulled from rough waters on the Flint River in Albany on Sunday.

WALB is reporting the rescue occurred around 4 Sunday afternoon near the Riverfront Park downtown.

The report stated that one of the victims reported she was saved when an EMS worker threw a rope into the river toward her.  Both girls then used the rope to allow rescuers to pull them to safety.

“I was freaking out, I was running into rocks and it kept spinning backwards,”Erin Callaway said in the WALB report.

There were two Kayaks each with two people on it.  Rescuers used ropes to pull them out of the rough waters.

No one was hurt, according to the reports.
