ALBANY — An Albany woman is behind bars after receiving child support from a man who thought he was the father of her child.

The woman, 42-year-old Regina Holmes Thompson received thousands of dollars from Joseph Golden Jr. since 2007, claiming her baby was his child.

Golden figured out that the child was in fact not his when she turned three.

The child is now eight and Thompson will receive felony identity theft and five thefts by deception charges.
