The report, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, looked at six decades of mortality data. Though Americans spend more money of healthcare than ever before and more than any other country, the U.S. continues to see a drop in life expectancy in people between the ages of 25-64.
Since this time period is typically considered the “prime of life,” these stats are alarming, and contrast starkly with other wealthy countries which have exhibited and increase in longevity.
According to Statista.com, Hong Kong SAR is the country with the highest life expectancy worldwide for babies born in 2017.
