JACKSONVILLE, FL – The HYPE (Helping Young People Excel) Blazers track and field team competed in the Jacksonville Track Club (JTC) Track & Field Meet at the Bolles School on Saturday, May 18 in Florida.
In the girls’ competition, the following medals were earned:
Erin Howard, 1st place in the 1500 meter run – 6:56.10
Kendall Johnson, 1st place in the 800 meter run – 2:29.90
Ryna Skrine, 1st place in the 200 meter run – 28.34
Mariah Inboden, 3rd place in the 200 meter run – 31.10
In the boys’ competition, the following medals were earned:
Xavier Stokes, 1st place in the 800 meter run – 2:47.75
Nicholas Booker, 2nd place in the Long Jump with a distance of 11’7”
Juizon Hummel, 3rd place in the 400 meter run – 55.47 seconds
Hiram Kalel Johnson, 3rd place in the 800 meter run – 2:58.59
Additionally, Jonathan Harris placed 5th in the 400 meter run (56.53) and Nicholas Booker placed 5th in the 200 meter run (31.39).
HYPE is a grassroots non-profit organization that was established in 2011, in Valdosta, GA. The mission of the organization is to promote the well-being of young lives through instruction in the arts, sports, mentoring, and youth leadership development.
The HYPE Blazers Track Club is a developmental and competitive track program for youth ages 5 to 19 years old. HYPE is committed to teaching the fundamentals and mechanics of Track & Field.
