ATHENS – A new water trail on the Ogeechee River is now an official part of the Georgia Water Trails Network.

Georgia River Network and Ogeechee Riverkeeper are proud to present a new water trail on the Ogeechee River!

What is a water trail? A water trail is the water equivalent to a hiking trail with clear access points and a designated length where swimmers, paddlers, boaters and anglers can legally and safely recreate.

The Ogeechee River Water Trail is now an established part of the Georgia Water Trails Network. This designation will encourage more recreation on the 207 miles of river recreation offered on the river, from flatwater paddling to class III paddle adventures.
