JACKSONVILLE — Florida Governor Rick Scott is proposing a plan to cut $673 million in taxes as part of his $77 billion state budget.
Scott was in Jacksonville on Monday, addressing the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce. He was there to promote his plan and the benefits it provides to the state’s residents. The cuts, Scott said, would impact almost every Floridian.
Scott’s plan reduces taxes on cable, satellite, and cell phone bills. Scott said the average state family would save $43 a year on those bills with these cuts.
Further, Scott is calling for an end to the sales tax paid on textbooks for students in college, saving them around $140 a year.
