Moody AFB announces COVID-19 case, increases health protection

LOWNDES CO. – Moody Air Force Base has been notified by the Georgia Department of Public Health that a worker in their dining facility has tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Moody has responded by declaring a public health emergency and increasing its Health Protection Condition (HPCON) level to B. This includes strict hygiene, sanitizing common use items, and no handshaking.

Team Moody Tricare beneficiaries who feel ill should contact the nurse advice line at 800-874-2273. Non-Tricare beneficiaries who are feeling ill should contact their primary care physician.

Moody AFB will continue to work with the local, regional, and state health officials to help with COVID-19 detection and response, and will provide additional information as it becomes available.
