ALBANY — Prosecutors said in a bond hearing Friday that Susan Embert, of Albany, poisoned her husband, Jake Embert, before he was found shot to death.

The incident happened in February of 2015.

At first, Jake’s death was ruled as a suicide.

The grand jury later indicted her for murder after new evidence was discovered. The state said they found traces of insecticide, antifreeze, and arsenic in his hair fibers.

Susan has been denied bond. The judge gave the District Attorney 60 days to decide if he will seek the death penalty before another bond hearing.
