ATLANTA, Ga — Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, a member of the Georgia Corona Virus Task Force, made the announcement that a hotel has been donated to serve those in need. According to 11Alive, Bottoms and the committee has come up with several objectives that could prevent more people from becoming homeless and expanding testing for high-risk individuals.

Bottoms stated that the homeless population is very vulnerable and often have underlying that makes them more susceptible to severe illnesses. The mayor believes that this will also be an opportunity for providers to come in contact with the homeless population and also providing a “wraparound” service to help navigate them away from homelessness.
