DA’S OFFICE GETS 10 YEARS PRISON FOR BERRIEN COUNTY MAN

Billy Joe Lumpkin, age 51, from Nashville, will be serving the next 10 years in the custody and control of the Georgia Department of Corrections. District Attorney Dick Perryman’s Office asked the Court to revoke all of the remaining 10 years of Lumpkin’s probation and the Court agreed. Lumpkin was on probation for burglaries and thefts from 2010. Most recently however, Lumpkin was arrested and charged with multiple violent felonies including rape, kidnapping, home invasion and multiple counts of aggravated assault. The recent arrests were the basis for the revocation of Lumpkin’s probation “We are very pleased with the Court’s ruling in this case. Billy Joe Lumpkin violated his probation and must be held to account for his actions. Today’s sentencing DOES NOT mark the end of the prosecution of Billy Joe Lumpkin and my office will prosecute this case to the full extent of the law. It is the goal of this office to protect the citizens of this circuit and today was a step in the right direction.” stated District Attorney Dick Perryman.
