VALDOSTA, Ga. – On Tuesday, December 17, the Valdosta Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 909 Loch Laurel Street. The call came in from dispatch at 2:32 a.m. Fire units arrived within five minutes to find the house fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters on scene were able to bring the fire under control.
All residents were out of the house prior to fire department’s arrival. One resident was transported to SGMC to receive medical attention for possible smoke inhalation.
There was a total of 14 VFD Personnel on scene. The fire cause was determined to be an activated space heater too close to a closet within the home.
