WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Three employees of Danby House assisted living and memory-care facility in North Carolina were arrested for allegedly running a fight club using elderly patients struggling with dementia, Fox 5 reported.

Court documents revealed the three women employees were watching, filming and even egging on a fight between two patients, a 70-year-old woman and a 73-year-old woman, at the Winston-Salem facility, Fox 8 High Point and other local media reported.

Tonacia Yvonne Tyson, 20, and Taneshia Deshawn Jordan, 26, Marilyn Latish McKey, 32 were each charged with assaulting disabled persons.

The Winston-Salem Police Department announced the arrests Friday, October 11, 2019, after an investigation into a June complaint of elder abuse at the facility.

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services provided documents to Fox 5 that show how one of the “fighters” was heard yelling “let go, help me, help me, let go,” as the three employees continued without aiding her cries.

At one point a staffer told the patient to “stop screaming (expletive),” The Winston-Salem Journal reported.

The employees were fired in June after managers found out about the incident.
