On October 1, 2019, UPS ran the first official drone airline, according to a report from Wired.

UPS announced that its drone service is the first to be acknowledged by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a commercial airline.

With this trailblazing certification, UPS can operate run as many drones as it chooses where it chooses as long as it abides by the strict FAA regulations which relate to operator line of sight.

UPS plans to extend its drone-delivery service.
