VALDOSTA, Ga. – Desiyunna Hill was fatally shot outside of a teen party on June 22, 2019. The party was held at a popular multipurpose venue where there was no adult chaperones, no security and no onsite police officers.

The Desi Act is an initiative that will will show the community that the local government in the city of Valdosta is serious about protecting its citizens by ensuring accountability across the board.

Property managers and property owners should be knowledgeable of the type of events taking place at their buildings, and in the event of a large crowd, police and security must be mandated in all contractual agreements.

The “DESI ACT” is a PRO-ACTIVE approach to preventing tragedies like this from reoccurring in the future.
