Berrien Teacher Arrested for Sex with Student

BERRIEN CO., Ga. – A Berrien High School teacher was released from jail Thursday night on a $75,000 bond after being charged with sexual assault against a student.

On Monday, May 20, 2019, the GBI’s Douglas Regional Office received a request from the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office to assist with a child abuse investigation involving a high school teacher and a student.

On Friday, May 17, 2019 the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office received a report from School Resource Officer Mark Swain that a Berrien County High School teacher, Erin Proctor, was alleged to have had inappropriate sexual contact with a student. Proctor was suspended with pay as a result of the allegations.

As a result of investigative leads developed by GBI Douglas agents and the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office, Erin Proctor, 26, was arrested on three counts of Felony Sexual Assault. Proctor was booked into the Berrien County Jail.
