VALDOSTA, Ga. – According to a press release from Governor Brian Kemp this morning stating that through executive order he has expanded last Thursday’s state of emergency to include an additional nine more counties.

Those counties are Appling, Bacon, Bulloch, Clinch, Echols, Evans, Screven, Tattnall, and Ware.

Hurricane Dorian, now a Category 2, has missed much of Florida and is now inching north along the southeastern coast after catastrophic damage to the Bahamas.

The storm is expected to hit Georgia by Wednesday night. Dorian is currently at its maximum speed of 105mph and is gradually speeding up, according to NHC.

The following counties are now officially part of the governor’s state of emergency: Appling, Bacon, Brantley, Bryan, Bulloch, Camden, Charlton, Chatham, Clinch, Effingham, Echols, Evans, Glynn, Liberty, Long, McIntosh, Pierce, Screven, Tattnall, Ware and Wayne counties.

This executive order also underscores the illegality of price gouging in these 21 counties, as established in Georgia statute OCGA 10-1-393.4.
