Worth County fire officials said the fire had been contained by 3:30 p.m. Con-Agra spokesman reported everyone was safe and they had shut the facility down for safety reasons.

Interim Sylvester City Manager Jack Colby said the fire started in the roaster and did not spread to the building.

Con-Agra makes Peter Pan peanut butter at the Sylvester plant from which it distributes it nationwide.
