ADEL – It’s back to business as usual in South Georgia, after Wednesday’s threat of severe storms.
Many people in Adel are breathing a sigh of relief.
“I really appreciate that we didn’t get the damage this time, like we did in January,” says William Bush, co-owner of Sunshine Acres Mobile Homes.
This week, Bush replaced the first trailer out of 21 demolished in the Jan. 22 storm.
It could take up to eight months to replace the other 20 because of the cost for each one.
He says each time there’s a threat of severe weather, it’s not only what it could bring, but what it could mean for picking up the pieces from last time.
“Everyday that we work out here, I look at the weather forecast to make sure that there’s nothing that’s going to prevent us from being outside and working in the area where the storm hit,” says Bush.
Thursday, they returned to Sunshine Acres to pick up where they left off.
“It’s just going to take a long time, but everybody’s encouraged now to get back,” says Bush.
They’re taking each new day as an opportunity to continue rebuilding.
