VALDOSTA – On Christmas Eve, a Valdosta radio station distributed over 500 gifts as a part of the station’s “Toyz In Da Hood” donation drive.

Several businesses partnered with 107.9 The Beat to make the event possible, including The R Report Magazine, Pepsi, V-Town Gifts and More, His and Her Closet and Big Nick’s BBQ & Soul Food.

The Beat collected toys donated by listeners through the drive and distributed them to children in the Hudson Dockett and Ora Lee West housing authorities and the Park Chase apartments, Azalea woods apartments and University Drive communities.

“It was amazing to see those kids light up,” said Nick Harden with 107.9 The Beat.
