VALDOSTA – On December 6, 2016, the Valdosta Police Department’s Narcotics unit set up a prostitution sting at local motel in the 1200 Block of North St Augustine Road using a social media website.
A 37-year-old female met with the undercover agents, and after she discovered the agents were Police Officers, she advised that she was being forced by the two males that brought her there to participate in sexual activity for money.
Detectives detained the two males who were in the vehicle and had brought the female to the motel. The investigation revealed that the female had been taken to multiple states across the country for the purpose of participating in sexual activity for money.
Evidence recovered from the vehicle also supported the female’s claim, including over thirty-three thousand dollars in cash.
Warrants have now been signed on both Tomoth Dorsey, 49, of Bowie, Missouri, and Matthew Lenzi, 30, of Glendale, Arizona, for Human Trafficking (Felony) and Pimping (Misdemeanor). Both have been booked into the Lowndes County Jail.
Detectives are currently not pursuing charges against the female, and arrangements are being made to assist her.
“The Narcotics detectives are commended for taking extra steps to validate what the female told them versus arresting her. Their efforts ended a terrible ordeal for this female who turned out to be a victim,” said VPD Lt. Adam Bembry.
