A 41-year-old guy named Jim Ford co-owns a repo company in Belleville, Illinois, just across the border from St. Louis.
And he’s had to repossess hundreds of cars. But he recently had to tow a car that belonged to an elderly couple, and didn’t feel good about it.
82-year-old Stanford Kipping and his wife Patty had missed a few monthly payments on their 1998 Buick. The price of their prescriptions recently went up, and they’re on a fixed income.
So right after Jim left with their car, he pulled over around the corner . . . called the bank that owned the title . . . and said he wanted to pay it off in FULL.
He set up a GoFundMe page that night. And by the next morning, people had already donated about $3,500.
That was enough to pay off the car AND give Stanford and Patty a thousand bucks to help cover some other bills they’re dealing with.
Then before he brought their car back, he fixed it up . . . changed the oil . . . and one of his coworkers bought them a Thanksgiving TURKEY just to be nice.
