VALDOSTA – A Valdosta neighborhood was evacuated Saturday after a chlorine leak was discovered in a private water system.
Lowndes County Fire and Rescue and the Valdosta Fire Department’s hazmat truck responded to the Lochwinn subdivision on Highway 84 Saturday afternoon after a worker discovered the leak.
Residents were evacuated as a safety precaution.
The leak originated from the subdivision’s private water system, and residents were able to return home within an hour.
