VALDOSTA – The local chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference has continued its complaints about the construction of the new Valdosta High School, saying minority contractors are being left out.
Rev. Floyd Rose told WALB school board members promised to hire black contractors to build the school but did not live up to those promises.
Dr. Williams Cason, Valdosta City Schools Superintendent, said all contractors were given the opportunity to submit bids, no promises were made and to do so would have been illegal.
