Valdosta police investigating Sunday night shooting death

VALDOSTA – On November 13, 2016 at approximately 9:45 p.m., uniformed officers with the Valdosta Police Department responded to a residence in the 2400 block of Knox Drive in reference to a report of a person having been shot.

Officers arrived on scene and made contact with a deceased African American male that appeared to have injured by a gunshot wound. Valdosta Police Department Detectives and Crime Scene Technicians from the Valdosta-Lowndes Regional Crime Laboratory responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.

At this time, the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and not random based on information obtained thus far as part of the investigation. The case is actively being investigated and persons of interest are being sought.

“If anyone has any knowledge or information relating to this case please contact the Valdosta Police Department immediately,” said VPD Lt. Adam Bembry.
