VALDOSTA – The Lowndes County Board of Commissioners approved an increase in the county millage rate this week.

The Lowndes County millage rate now stands at 11.224 mills. The 11.37 increase will mean owners of a $100,000 will pay an additional $40 a year, 0wners of a $200,000 home will pay an additional $40 and the owners of a $300 will pay an extra $133, according to reports from the Valdosta Daily Times.
