Valdosta prison employees indicted for allegedly giving inmates tobacco

VALDOSTA – Two Valdosta State Prison employees have been indicted for providing prohibited items to inmates.

Tisha Dawn Adams was arrested in May for allegedly giving inmates bundles of tobacco wrapped in electrical tape. Adams was indicted earlier this month by a Lowndes County Superior Court Grand Jury on three counts of furnishing prohibited items to inmates and one county of violation of oath of office, according to court documents.

Scotty Maleek Butler was arrested in November for allegedly providing an inmate with cigars and cigarettes. Butler has been indicted with one count of furnishing prohibited items to inmates and one county of violation of oath of office, according to court documents.
