The stories reported to police in Moultrie regarding a stabbing incident that sent one person to the hospital are different and officials say that alcohol was involved in what began as a domestic dispute. Kenneth Robinson told police that his wife Rosie stabbed him during an argument because he did not answer her phone call. Rosie Robinson has been charged with aggravated assault.
A visit to see his three year old daughter left 35 year old William Christian beaten and arrested for a Lowndes County probation violation. Christian had gone to Colquitt County where the attack took place to see the child. A warrant will be issued for his unidentified attacker who was already at the residence when the victim arrived.
Georgia State Patrol officials report that during the July Fourth holiday there were nine fatalities in he state and GSP Post 13 reports the investigation of 10 accidents. Post 13’s area of enforcement includes Tift, Cook and Berrien counties. The Georgia Department of Highway safety reported that last year, statewide, troopers investigated 554 traffic crashes over the Fourth of July weekend that resulted in 277 injuries and four traffic fatalities.
Narcotics agents in Thomasville paid a visit to the Lester Street residence of Angela Lavette Seabrooks, 45 for the second time this year. Agents found and seized crack cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash along with a 1996 Toyota Avalon and a 1985 Chevrolet pickup truck. Deshun Smith was charged with a cocaine offense earlier his year and was out of jail on bond when re-arrested. Tabitha Denise Harris,17 was arrested along with Smith’s mother, Angela Seabrooks, 45, when no one would claim ownership of the drugs. Harris and Seabrooks were released from the Thomas County Jail on bonds of $5,100 each.
Congratulations go out today to Master Sgt. Aaron Frederick and to Staff Sgt. Bradley Mock. The Moody Airmen-both members of the 824th Base Defense Squadron have been awarded the Bronze Star with Valor, the Air Force Combat Action Medal and the Purple Heart. The medals recognize the the men’s actions in the Afghanistan theatre of war.
The idea of a City Center in Hahira moved closer to becoming a reality now that architects have plans to develop several designs for the facility to be presented to city leaders. The city council presented some of their ideas for the city center that will include something for persons of all ages.
