The search continues for Cynthia Yates in the wake of a credit card fraud investigation that has lasted for a month. Two other women Wendy Yates and Britanny Walden have already been charged with Financial Card Fraud and identity theft. The investigation began after calls were made to law enforcement regarding the illegal use of customer cards.

The economic impact of the AT&T diving championships coming to the city of Moultrie is estimated to be four million dollars. The event will take place at the Moss Farms Diving Center with approximately 700 divers from 50 states entering the competition during the first two weeks in August.

South and Southwest Georgia peanut farmers are looking for rain. Farmers in the area also say that the dry weather is also affecting other crops such as corn, cotton and vegetables. Many peanut crops have been in the ground for almost a month.

Congratulations go out today to the J.T Reddick middle school of Tifton for earning recognition from the governor’s office. The school was given the Gold Award for achievement gains on test performance covering a three year period. Three Lowndes County schools were the only other recipients of the award in the area.

An undercover operation was carried out in Dougherty County as law enforcement checked convenience stores for the sale of alcohol to underage consumers. 11 of the 26 stored investigated were found to have violated the law in making underage sales. While some charged with the crime have already reported to the sheriff’s office and paid their fines, officials warn those who have not done so that warrants will be issued against them.
