Valdosta residents want to “Stop the Violence”

VALDOSTA — The Rev. J.D. Martin, along with the Valdosta Police Department and other concerned community members, have come together in an attempt to “stop the violence” in Lowndes County with a group called Citizens Against Violence.

CAV’s Community Meeting on Decreasing Violence will be held April 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the Valdosta-Lowndes Parks and Recreation Building, located at 1901 N. Forrest St.

A motorcade schedule was also released for those looking to get involved. Motorcade dates include May 14, July 16, Sept. 17 and Nov. 19. All motorcades start in front of Valdosta High School at 9:30 a.m.
