VALDOSTA – Georgia State Patrol Post 31-Valdosta is currently investigating a single vehicle crash on North Valdosta Road at Val Del Road in Lowndes County.

All Northbound and Southbound lanes, including Val Del Road, will be closed for an undetermined amount of time. Traffic has not been allowed in the area due to safety concerns. Georgia Power is on the scene, according to GSP reports.

The driver of a white pickup truck collided with a utility poll, knocking out electricity to the area. The driver was transported for medical attention. The driver’s condition is unknown.

Lowndes County officials say North Valdosta Road will be open for Tuesday morning commutes. The road is not expected to open until sometime between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. Tuesday morning.
