VALDOSTA — The Southern Christian Leadership Conference, led by the Rev. Floyd Rose, once again protested a lack of bids awarded to black contractors for the construction of the new Valdosta High School at the board of education meeting Tuesday night.
The SCLC has been waging a battle against the Valdosta Board of Education for black participation in the construction of VHS since the board approved contracts for Phase II of the project at its Jan. 14 board meeting.
