VALDOSTA – Literally minutes after confirming the Donald Trump campaign had not reserved space at the school for a rally, Valdosta State University officials now say contracts have been signed and an event has been scheduled.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump will hold a rally at the VSU athletic complex Feb. 29 at 6 p.m. Doors open at 4 p.m., according to the website eventbrite.com.

The event will be held the day before Georgia’s March 1st primary.

The Atlanta-Journal Constitution reported on the event Sunday, but local campaign coordinators were unaware of the rally, according to reports from the Valdosta Daily Times.

On Monday, VSU officials first confirmed to Valdosta Today that an event had not been scheduled, but a contract to rent the athletic complex for the event was signed and finalized minutes later. The rally is not a university sponsored event.
