VALDOSTA – The Lowndes County Board of Commissioners is preparing for two days of meetings this week in which they will discuss budgets, SPLOST, Animal Services and ordinances, the creation of an Accountability Court and more.
The 2016 Annual Planning Meeting is scheduled for Thursday and Friday at the Quail Branch Lodge in Lake Park. The sessions begin with a presentation of the county’s annual audit report and an overview of current budget-expenditures and revenue.
“The purpose of the annual planning meeting is for the Commission to evaluate current goals, update them and set new goals for the new year. This helps staff in their preparation of the FY 2016-2017 budget for the Commission’s consideration in June,” said Paige Dukes, Lowndes County Clerk. “While there will be discussion, no votes will take place during this meeting.”
