VALDOSTA – The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a freeze warning for much of South Florida and North Florida, including Lowndes, Brooks, Cook, Berrien, Tift, Lanier and Madison Counties.

The freeze warning is in effect from midnight tonight until 10 a.m. 9 a.m. Tuesday morning. Freezing temperatures are expected to last from five to nine hours with lows in the mid to upper 20s.

A freeze warning indicates sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions can damage and even kill crops and other sensitive vegetation, according to NWS.
