THOMASVILLE — People must remember that posting to social media is a public activity.  A Thomas County Deputy Sheriff learned that lesson this week.

According to reports from WCTV, Deputy Jason Shierling posted an inappropriate comment to social media on Monday related to a posted video showing employees of a Thomasville restaurant fighting. He has since been suspended, according to the report.

The report notes the following post was made by Shierling:

“Lolz, these are the same people that want 15 an hr, the same people screaming “black lives matter” it’s very clear they matter to you! I would’ve loved to have rolled up on this. If you aim right you could’ve gotten both of them on the same cartridge, let them ride it together!”

The Thomas County Sheriff’s Office told WCTV that the comment was “inappropriate” and says that Deputy Shierling has been suspended without pay.  He has since resigned.
