MACON — The U.S. Attorney involved in the Kendrick Johnson investigation is set to resign.

Michael Moore, the U. S. Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia, is leaving his post on November 23.

No successor has been named and no reason has been announced by his office so far, according to reports from WALB.

Moore has been the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia since 2010, when he replaced Frank Wood, who resigned to run for political office.

Moore has been involved in several high profile cases in South Georgia, including the Kendrick Johnson investigation and the $16 million trucking fraud case run by contractors out of the Albany Marine Base.
