VALDOSTA — A Lowndes High School teen was injured in a bus accident Friday morning.

The accident occurred on Dinky Run Road near Burkardt Drive in Lowndes County.

A Lowndes County School Bus was picking up children at a bus stop. After all the children had been loaded onto the bus, the driver of the bus, William Terry, 50, then proceeded to the next school bus stop location.

However, a young male, 14, attempted to catch the bus, running towards it from his house.  The victim lost his balance and tripped, falling under the bus.

As the bus moved forward, the passenger side rear tires of the school bus ran over the victim’s right leg.

He was transported to South Georgia Medical Center for his injuries. No passengers on the bus were injured in the accident.
