VALDOSTA — The 823rd Base Defense Squadron is scheduled to return to Moody Air Force Base on Tuesday.

The 823rd provides fully integrated, highly capable and responsive forces to protect Expeditionary Air Forces around the world.  They are returning from a 6-month deployment for Southwest Asia.

Base Defense Squadrons provide the Air Force with “first-in” fully integrated, multidisciplined, highly qualified, self-sustaining force protection capability of being deployed worldwide.
