VALDOSTA — An intercepted drug shipment keeps pills, marijuana, and “gummy candy” drugs off the streets.

With Halloween fast approaching, parents will see their children looking for treats.  As the image provided by Valdosta Police shows, these drugs look more like candy “tricks” than sugary “treats”.

On Tuesday, Valdosta Police received information about another shipment of drugs into the city.  They intercepted a package that was to be delivered to Crestwood West in Valdosta.

After doing some investigation related to the package and its intended recipient, detectives set up surveillance and saw the package being received.

Detectives then approached Jennifer Bishop, a white 53-year old female, who accepted the package.  Inside they discovered 14 grams of marijuana, 64 pills of THC, and 5.3 pounds of gummy candy infused with THC.

Bishop was arrested and transported to the Lowndes County Jail and charged with possession with felony intent to distribute.

Alarmingly, the drugs look much like candy.
