VALDOSTA — A suspicious package found at the Valdosta Airport created a scare Tuesday, though it was later determined to be a pressure cooker.
The all-clear was sounded after a package was found in the airport parking lot. Authorities secured the airport when the package was discovered, causing flights to be held from arriving at the airport.
Though no foul play is suspected, authorities are working to learn why the package was left. Several agencies were called to the scene, including the GBI Bomb Squad and Valdosta Fire Department.
The airport was reopened once the incident was fully investigated and normal operations have resumed.
