VALDOSTA — The Lowndes County Board of Elections has released the initial list of qualified candidates for city office in the November municipal elections.

Three candidates have qualified for the mayor’s race, including incumbent John Gayle, Brooks Bivins, and J.D. Rice.

Only one candidate has so far qualified for the City Council District 1 seat, Vivian Miller-Cody.  Only incumbents in the District 3, 5, and At-Large seats have qualified.

Debra Bell and Edward Mack have qualified for the Superward East and West respectively so far.  Kenneth Davis has qualified for the Hahira District 2 seat with Bill Wetherington, the incumbent, qualifying for one of the two Remerton  At-Large seats.
