ADEL — After Hahira Police attempted to pull a man over for a traffic violation, he fled before being captured by Cook County law enforcement.

According to reports, a suspect, no yet named, was being directed to pull over by Hahira Police, however, he fled in his vehicle.

The driver sped into Cook County on US Hwy 41 Wednesday afternoon before wrecking his car on Old Coffee Road near Cecil.

He then, according to the report, attempted to hitchhike, but was reported to law enforcement via a tip.

The suspect was apprehended by Cook County Sheriff Douglas Hanks, according to a report from WALB.
