VALDOSTA — A fatal crash led an active July for troopers at Post 31 of the Georgia State Patrol.
According to Sergeant First Class Jeromy Roberts, Post 31 Valdosta Troopers investigated 148 traffic crashes, resulting in 88 injuries and 1 fatal crash during the month of July 2015.
SFC Roberts also said during the month of July, Post #31 Troopers had the following activity: 780 citations, 27 D.U.I. arrests, 134 Seatbelt Violation citations, 26 Child Restraint Violation citations and 377 Speeding citations. Post #31 Troopers also apprehended 5 wanted persons, recovered 2 stolen vehicles and made 6 drug arrests.
Post #31 Troopers issued 806 warnings during July and accumulated 56 hours conducting Road-Checks during the month.
SFC Roberts reminds everyone to Buckle Up, Don’t Text and Drive and Slow Down. By doing this we will see a reduction in the number of fatalities on our highways.
