THOMASVILLE — The Thomas County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are currently investigating the death of a Thomas County infant.

Thomas County EMS responded to call regarding an unresponsive infant at a home on Swanson Road Wednesday morning.

The child was taken to Archbold Memorial Hospital for treatment, though the 19-month-old was later pronounced dead.

There was no immediate word on what led to the infant becoming unresponsive.

Because of that, the GBI Crime Lab was called to look into the death, and is expected to deliver results from their findings.
