Albany > Darton Sneaker Theft involved Guns

ALBANY — More information has been released regarding the bizarre sneaker theft and arrest last week in Albany.

Two teens, one 18 the other 16, were arrested after the theft of three pairs of expensive sneakers last week on a remote part of the Darton State College campus.

Multiple police agencies responded just west of Sylvester to arrest Kahlil Nether as he was driving the car that was used in the theft of the shoes.  The shoes were stolen from Juron West, who brought them to sell, but was robbed of them at gunpoint.

West has been charged with theft and receiving stolen goods.

Police stated in a report published by WALB that Brandon Brown used a gun to rob West of the shoes.  He has been located and was arrested last Thursday.

Reports stated that an unnamed 16-year arranged the theft, though police state he cannot be identified. He has been arrested and charged with being party to a crime.
