VALDOSTA — Three males and one female were arrested after robbing the J&K Foodmart on Wednesday.
Around 7:39 p.m., 27-year-old Jonathan Washington and 17-year-old Marcus Preaster robbed the J&K store on 739 Old Statenville Road.
Washington and Preaster held the store clerk at gunpoint and demanded money. The two took an undetermined amount of money and then fled the scene in a vehicle.
After receiving a detailed description of the vehicle from witnesses, police performed a felony traffic stop.
Valdosta Police Department Officer Brandon Cartett pulled the vehicle over and apprehended four people from the car. Detectives investigated the vehicle and found evidence from the crimes.
Police were already patrolling the area at the time of the crime for reports of three suspicious males running from Eddy and Betty’ store on 731 Lee Street.
Charles Hawkins, 26, and 20-year-old Brittany Moore were arrested for being party to the crime, they were charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault.
Washington and Preaster received charges of armed robbery, two count of aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
The four could be facing additional charges at this time.
