VALDOSTA — Murray Road in Valdosta will be completely closed to motorists, from March 23-26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., to allow Georgia Power to replace three large utility poles. The work requires the use of a crane and large equipment; therefore, a detour route has been established for motorists who live in that area. Residents will be able to access their homes via the detour on Brookfield Road, which is accessible from Inner Perimeter Road on the north and N. Ashley Street on the south.
On March 27-29, motorists traveling in that area of the city will also be flagged around similar work scheduled at the intersection of Murray Road and N. Oak Street Extension. This work will take place on Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting.
Normal traffic will resume at both of these locations at the end of each work day, until complete.
All necessary road signs will be in place. As always, motorists should use extreme caution and pay close attention to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic while driving in this area.
