IRWIN COUNTY –  Two trucks collided Tuesday afternoon near Irwinville, according to reports from the Georgia Department of Transportation and WALB.

The accident involved a flat bed truck traveling west towards Irwinville in Irwin County on Georgia Highway 32, when the vehicle ran off the road, hit a ditch and over corrected.

That action led to the truck hitting an semi tractor-trailer truck heading east toward Ocilla.  The struck truck then erupted into flames.

The driver of the stuck vehicle was not injured, but the driver of the flat bed truck was sent to the hospital for further evaluation.  The Georgia State Patrol note in the report that the event occurred at 2:43 Tuesday.

The highway has since been reopened to traffic.
