LOWNDES — Lowndes County Schools is collecting essential supplies to support families and first responders impacted by South Georgia wildfires.

Release:

Lowndes County Schools is collecting essential items to support families and first responders in surrounding counties impacted by the South Georgia wildfires.

Wildfires across our region are affecting homes, schools, and communities much like our own. As Superintendent Sandra Wilcher shared, “school systems are more than buildings — they are the heart of a community. When one is hurting, we all feel it.” She also encouraged us to lift up the safety of students, staff, and families, along with the first responders working to protect lives and homes.

Right now, our neighbors need support, and as the One Lowndes Family, we are stepping up.

We invite you to join us in giving to help meet immediate needs for those affected.

Donations Needed:
• Cleaning supplies
• Diaper wipes
• Snacks and protein bars
• Gatorade and electrolyte drink mixes
• Sunscreen and bug spray
• Chapstick and tissues
• Hand sanitizer
• Bandanas and crew socks

Drop-Off Location:
Lowndes County Board of Education
Monday–Friday
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Please continue to keep these communities in your thoughts and prayers, lifting up their students, families, and all those working tirelessly to keep them safe.

When one community hurts, we stand together.
