VALDOSTA – The Valdosta-Lowndes Park and Recreation Authority temporarily cancels all practices, games, and activities due to hurricane damage.

Release:

Update: VLPRA facilities and parks have extensive damage from Hurricane Helene.  Because of hurricane effects, the Valdosta-Lowndes County Parks & Recreation Authority is canceling all practices, games, and activities at VLPRA facilities through Wednesday, October 9th.  VLPRA offices will tentatively reopen to the public on Wednesday, October 9th.

All rentals are cancelled through Sunday, October 13th. We will reschedule or refund all rentals.

Currently the only parks open for use are the McKey Park tennis center, the pickleball courts at McKey Park, and the playground/skate park/ multipurpose field section of North Lowndes Park. The soccer complex is closed to the public.
We are assessing parks and facilities and will list more openings as they become available.

We will share any necessary updates on our website, vlpra.com, and through our official VLPRA Facebook page.
